Google added customizable maps today... Nothing amazing, but I made one anyway.

Russell threw a 70’s party on Saturday night. Groovy pictures are here.

While we were shopping for 70’s clothes at Savers, I came across a copy of Acquire for $1.99. The box was a bit beat up, but I decided to open it up to see if all the pieces were there. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that the game was completely unpunched! The tiles were still sealed in the original bag, the money and cards were still all glued together!! The copyright is 1971, so this game has been ignored for more than 35 years… Now I’m trying to decide whether to punch and play it, or leave it in its virginal state…

Yesterday Kara and I went on a bike ride! We drove out to Baldwin Beach Park and then rode our bikes to Kanaha Beach and back. The wind was blowing very strongly from Baldwin to Kanaha, so we flew on the way there and struggled on the way back. The wind turned out to be too much for Kara, so I sped off to get the Jeep so I could come back and pick her up. It was tiring but a lot of fun!

Once we got back to Kihei, we jumped in the ocean at Kam II. The wind was blowing and the ocean felt kinda cold, but it was still nice and refreshing. Once we got out, we dried off and stayed on the beach until the sun set behind Lana'i.

Dream #3

I was pulled off on the side of the road and I was eating, but I was really hungry and didn't have enough food... I looked around and noticed people picking bananas off a tree down the road a bit... So I walked over but all the 'low hanging fruit' was picked... Then a bunch of bananas fell on some dude's head, which made me laugh and then I picked up two bananas and walked back to the car and ate them.

Dream #2

There was this scary house, and some demon or monster lived in it... basically, if you go in the house, it will be released and it'll kill you. Vaguely I remember multiple attempts to enter the house, or something... just like back story... but the part I remember the most, was entering the house with some explorer dude (oh, I just realized this dream is inspired by House of Leaves). Anyway, we're in the house, and it's like we have to go to this certain spot to hit a lever to open a door in a different room. But then it was like the house was filling with water, or something, because me and the dude were hurrying through the house and we got split up... and then I was lost in the house, and worried about the monster.

Suddenly an old woman, which I think might have been my great grandmother, bursts into the room and runs past me saying "WHY WOULD YOU COME IN HERE?? DON'T YOU KNOW ABOUT THE MONSTER!?!" She ran to a certain room, and I followed her... there was this door in the room that I 'knew' the monster lived behind... and I feel like the door was shaking or glowing, but it might have just been emanating evil and doom. The old woman got down on the floor and started doing an idol worship routine, presumably to keep the creature from emerging. Finally the woman relaxed and said that everything was ok now, and then she asked why I had come to the house. I think I said "to see you" or something weird like that, and then we hugged.

Dream #4

I was supposed to be a judge for a pageant, like Miss America, but I was late because I was working at this other pageant where I was judging something strange like outstanding immigrants (coed). Then when I finished up judging the immigrants, I went to the other pageant and got in line for the dinner buffet. Next thing I remember, I'm sitting at a table with my MS coworkers eating and talking in hushed tones about things I no longer remember.

Dream #1

Me, Kara, and another person that kept shifting/disappearing/being two people were on the 'Columbia river' (it didn't look like the Columbia, but it was the Columbia by name in the dream). We were on boogie boards plus we had the jet ski with us too and we cruised down the river for a while. All of a sudden I realized that we were in a dry river bed and I was like "What the heck, is the whole river dry, that's weird!" But then I realized that it was just funneled down to a small section, so I said "make sure not to get into that, it'll be going very fast!" I also said "we need to watch for if the river starts rising and filling the river bed, because if it does, it'll be like a flash flood with lots of debris and we'll get really hurt."

Well of course, as soon as I said that, the river started rising. So we ran over to the bank of the dry river bed and started climbing the cliff like bank. Once we got up, we could see the river picking up below us with tons of mud and sticks. Then we noticed a dust bubble above the river was coming straight for us, like the shockwave of an atomic blast. I said "hold your breath!" and it hit us, but it wasn't just dust, it was like wet mud dust... so it just completely caked onto us as it passed. It felt like being dipped in pancake batter or something.
