Ok people… Next time a show like Heroes comes out, do me a favor and tell me that I need to watch it. I mean, I know that I should have figured it out on my own, but that doesn’t excuse you from your duties!

What made me check it out? Chris and Kieran were visiting last week and the show came up. They were describing some of the superpowers and they said something about the 9th Wonders comic book. “Oh, the show is based on a comic book?” I asked. “No, there’s a comic book in the show about the characters… One of the guys sees the future and paints about them without realizing it’s real.”

Are you kidding me? And I’m not watching this show?!?

So, I downloaded the first episode with bit torrent a few days ago and Kara & I watched it last night around 10:00pm… and we were instantly hooked! We got on to iTunes and downloaded and watched the second episode right away. And then the third, and fourth, and fifth episodes. And THEN we watched episodes six and seven which were on our Tivo…

Yeah, we watched all seven episodes one after another… 5.25 commercial-free hours. We finished at 3:30am.

Well, it’s been another 20 days, so I better write something…

The Portland trip was fun, but MAN was it a reminder of what we’re missing. I couldn’t believe how cold I was all the time. Besides just being cold outside, I also realized that there are other ‘cold things’ that I don’t have to deal with in Hawaii.

  • Waiting forever for the ice cold tap water to warm up (when using the sink or shower)
  • Avoiding Kara’s frozen feet when getting into bed
  • Freezing cold toilet seats (YOW!)

And maybe this was a bad time to return, since Portland had record breaking rain this month, but seriously it didn’t stop raining the whole time we were there.

Let’s just say that the Portland trip gave us a new appreciation of where we are currently living!
